    Tiberian Sun 22nd Anniversary - Developer Discussions, Mod Overviews & Multiplayer Gameplay

    For those who missed it Tiberian Sun celebrated it's 22nd Anniversary last week, and during the last couple weeks the community came together to showcase a lot of the ongoing work between developers, testers, streamers and the players!

    As a little overview heres some of the major events I was able to take part in during the week, big shoutout to all for tuning in and getting involved, and if you couldn't get to see it live the videos are freely accessible to watch in your own time!

    Tiberian War is a mod that brings back and revamps Tiberian Sun with new graphics, mechanics, and systems. Influenced by 80s action-horror flics, this mod aims to bring a sense of action-adventure in a lost RTS format. This is a stand-alone mod.

    We showcased some of the latest version of Tiberian War: WarZone, demoing recent updates to the Mod via Skrimishes & Multiplayer matches during the anniversary. This modification adds graphical and engine changes to the base game, while enabling you to playthrough some of the original Tiberian Sun & Firestorm campaign missions!

    The second addition to the Tiberian War Collection, IonShock is here! Continuing the saga of Tiberian Sun mods, IonShock is using a modified version of the YR engine, to bring you an alternative strategy game that expands on the beloved Tiberium universe. Key features: new factions, new effects, and new mechanics.

    We ran through an overview of the newly released Tiberian War: Ion Shock beta providing insight into the various newly added factions including the Scrin! Interesting that this mod while initially developed and intended for the Tiberian Sun engine was ported to Yuri's Revenge to enable better functionality particularly around the multiple faction selection options.

    Dawn of the Tiberium Age (DTA) is a stand-alone mod that combines Tiberian Dawn (C&C 95) and Red Alert using the Tiberian Sun engine. The project's aim is to allow people to both play and mod TD and RA, while having all of the benefits of the TS engine.

    The well renowned Rampastring takes on the latest Campaign Mission added to this mod 'Chainbreaker' on Hard Mode to show us how its done! During which he gives some interesting insight alongside Tiberius on the current state of the mod and details surrounding the latest patch and recent Nod re-work.

    Dev's & Testers hopped on a call to have some fun Multiplayer games, exploring the unique co-op missions offered by this mod as well as some 'friendly' pvp matchups!

    Tiberium Resurrection is a Tiberian Sun mod that seeks to expand and enhance on the original game in every way, while staying true to the style and lore of the base game. This includes a brand new campaign exploring both side's fight for control of the Forgotten after Tratos' assassination. To tell this story, TR employs all original cutscenes, pixel art and voice lines for a truly immersive experience.

    We had the absolute pleasure to record the developers discussions and playthrough of the most recent patch to Tiberium Resurrection showcasing recent changes, playing through the full campaign missions available, even including a special speedrun of Propaganda Forecast!

    Later in the evening we got to hop on for some multiplayer action and chat about the multiplayer balance with some 1v1 and 2v2 matches with Danku, Tiberius, FeFe and Flamewh33l

    Twisted Insurrection is a critically acclaimed, standalone modification based on the Command & Conquer™ Tiberian Sun™ engine. It features a complete redesign of the original game, set in an alternate "what-if?" timeline where the Brotherhood of Nod was victorious during the first Tiberian War.

    Crimsonum gave us a huge overview of the long awaited 0.9 release of Twisted Insurrection introducing major changes including the additon of GloboTech as a playable faction, Nod & GDI sub-factions, Forsaken as playable in Survival Mode, and multiple (up to 1,200) quality of life upgrades to campaign missions and exiting unit/structure models.

    Later in the evening we hopped on for some multiplayer matches against the devs, testers and community members to try out some of these new changes first hand.

    We got to see some alpha multiplayer footage from the developers and testers of Tiberian Odyssey, a mod that's been underway for many years but is finally consolidating its vision and hoping to get a playable version in the hands of the public by the end of year!

    A year has passed since the defeat of CABAL by a coalition of GDI and Nod forces. Against a backdrop of ever-increasing ion storms, meteor strikes, tiberium spread, and worsening conditions on Earth, GDI and Nod have continued their war for resources, and - more importantly - the control of the remaining civilized, untainted regions. Kane's tiberium missiles, fired just before the start of the Firestorm Crisis, have accelerated the transformation of the planet into some as-yet-unknown post-humanity world, and from this tiberium-evolved world, the Forgotten have started to rise - more organised, better equipped, and generally more distrusting of both GDI and Nod after years of abuse and deception. With the death of their leader, Tratos, still fresh on their minds, the Forgotten have severed all ties with their erstwhile allies - and captors - and have struck out to plot their own destiny in this new world that was taking shape around them.

    We got to see some beta multiplayer footage from the relatively new Mod Fading Dusk which has only been around since December of last year, the lead developers (Tiberus & Askhati) gave us a nice overview of the current state of the game, the different factions and some lore overview behind it's setting all while giving us some great casting of some high level plays between Lylak & JackoDerp.

    In the evening we also had an opportunity to jump in for some 2v2 action against the AIs as well as discuss some balance considerations before closing in on a wild FFA game between Flame, FeFe & Danku!

    Shattered Paradise is an expansion for Tiberian Sun on Openra, it's goal is to (im)balance the game by adding new factions (Scrin, Mutants and Cabal) and reworking the original sides, all of this to create a game a little more varied and balanced than TS. The mod puts a lot of emphasis on making the factions as asymmetric as possible.

    I took some time off stream to go through a preview of the OpenRA Shattered Paradise mod and showcase some of its various factions (note this was from a legacy build of the game, a newer playtest build is now available!). It was super interesting to see the OpenRA engine take on Tiberian Sun!
