    Unpopular opinion

Despite how bad Tiberian Twilight was (and it was bad) I still find there are some good things about it. Namely: the units. GDI especially has some really awesome units, like the Kodiak or Sheppard tank. I mean theres some really weird and lame ones, but I like the unit design. Also the GDI civil war subplot was really cool, sure it could have been fleshed out more, but it was still cool to see. Especially since this was the first time GDI fought GDI. Meanwhile Nod has fought itself in all 4 games.

Anyone else have anything they liked about C&C4?

    Small Islands, long battle

After months of playing the original C&C I finally completed this review video.

Ninja edit: the opening minute is a skit about how your average modern RTS player feels when hit with Westwood's style of doing things. Feel free to skip to the actual review at 1:03.

I'd somehow never played a C&C game before despite being the right age to do so when they came out (90s Blizzard fanboy), and in light of the announcement I thought I'd give it a go. Adapting to Westwood's style took a bit of getting used to as I'd only recently played Dune 2 as well.

This isn't your typical gushing review from a fan of the series, there's a lot right and a lot wrong with trying to play through the Nod campaign in 2019 with my level of RTS rust.

Hopefully the critique is appreciated, and my fingers are very much crossed for the remaster now. Next stop: Red Alert.

    Generals/ZH mission maps?

    Posted: 16 Oct 2019 06:59 AM PDT

Hey, I know some people have made custom missions for Generals/Zero Hour. I'm wondering, though, if any have been made where you can play as any faction? I.e. where you start out with just a command center and a dozer. And if any of those would automatically work with mods?

I'm asking this because I've been playing the CnC Europe mod, and I wouldn't mind playing some maps where is something other than the standard easy/medium/hard army in their base that attacks you.

    It's been 11 months now

    Posted: 16 Oct 2019 05:16 AM PDT

The remaster has been announced 11 months ago. According to Jim the first GDI mission was already done 3 or 4 months ago.

Yet all we've seen is 2 pictures of 3D art and 2 menu screenshots aswell as a sidebar preview.

I'm struggling to understand why we haven't seen some actual footage after 11 months of a game that already exists.

I gotta say this remaster is beginning to fly under my radar and I have my doubts that it will ever release.

I have my doubts anyway if it was the right choice to remaster specifically the '95 cncs. But this is another topic.

Anyways I'm afraid this game is gone before it arrives and if it arrives, I don't see a big chance of getting players into the RTS genre again.

Am I asking for too much? I don't know. I see EA publishing Battlefield games every 2 years, which have to be build from the ground up. Yet this game, which is basically just a copy with visuals overhauls, doesn't seem to make progress even half as fast.

They're probably cracking their heads right now about how you can actually milk your customers with a cnc game. I wouldn't be surprised if we get a PC version of CNCrivals.
