Getting RA2 to work on Win10

Heya people! Long time browser, first post here. Sorry if I've broken any rules!

To cut a long story short, the last time I played RA2 was on Win7 and from what I remember it worked fine with little changes. Since then I'm now on a different PC, using NVidea instead of Radeon and obviously Win10 now too. I tried giving RA2 a go, and of course probably not surprising to anyonehere, but it doesn't work.

I tried a load of solutions from EA answers from downloading a couple of different DDraw and even giving up and downloading the CNCNet launcher and trying that. Now, the CNC net launcher works perfectly with RA2 YR, that's golden, however RA2 is still completely broken. Crashes right after going past the initial loading screen, if it doesn't crash before it. I tried downloading the specific RA2 CNCNet launcher, but either I'm a colossal moron and I'm using the wrong download link, or the RA2 link just gives me the RA2 YR launcher, not the RA2 launcher.

I spose they could be one in the same, the RA2 YR launcher covers everything from RA2 as well, but even if that was the case, it's still not working. YR works fine with it, RA2 still crashes.

    Anyone have any ideas?

For reference, here are the two seperate areas I was trying to download the RA2 launcher from

Howdy all CnC fans!! Please take a minute and checkout OpenRA ( https://www.openra.net/ ). This is a open source remake of RedAlert. The game play is very smooth, graphics are great. There are some modern UI improvements so it's not 100% faithful, but IMO very well executed.

I'm in no way affiliated, just believe it's a great game and deserves more online players. So please give it a shot! The system requirements are very low, I play on a crap laptop occasionally.

    Also theres a subreddit ( https://www.reddit.com/r/openra/ )
