    Going through the sound card selection and upgrading the graphics to 4k and mirroring the original installation....that was freaking awesome and actually brought a tear to my eye. All these memories I had as a kid when I fist installed C&C came flooding back. The excitement of seeing the way the game installed and the way it animated everything, no other game I had did it at the time.

    Today I took off work, got up early before the wife and kids. Put away the dishwasher, made breakfast, made coffee, did the dishes, and gave everyone breakfast in bed.... why you ask? So at 12 today, they can all LEAVE ME ALONE!!! LETS GO!!!!!

    My dad loved the C&C games a great deal. He's what got me into the games from a very young age. He was also pretty dang good at them. He always had a strange predilection with only playing as the good guys (GDI, Allies, USA). I was never sure why, he always just told me that he just didn't want to play as the bad guys. Iirc he had beaten every game on the hardest difficulty, except for Kane's Wrath and C&C4. By the time C&C4 came out he really didn't play games anymore due to shoulder issues and such. He would still play what little he could though. Around a year and a half ago he was diagnosed with prostate cancer. Around that time I believe was also when C&C Remastered came up here on Reddit. I believe I told him about it, but I can't quite remember. Around September of last year, the cancer was confirmed to be terminal. He then passed away Saturday November 30th, the hardest day of my life so far. I'm only 17, and I loved him so much. With the Remaster about to release in only a handful of hours, I've been thinking about the memories of me, him, and this game. The innumerable times we tried to LAN and it didn't work, but the few times it did he would kick my ass. He loved these games so much, and I wish that he could see the series being revived. He probably would've gotten the remaster, even if he couldn't play them. If only...
