So, here's Nod's R&D when they got a hold of GDI's Walker Tech Posted: 28 May 2021 08:06 AM PDT " So, we got a hold of those GDI infidels' own walker technology. Man are they stupid when it comes to preventing their inventions being stolen . So what are we going to do with it?" "I know! We'll create a MCV walker!" "Uhh, would the downtrodden in the Yellow Zones be terrified at the idea of a menacing looking MCV? Not to mention the maintenance issues with legs together with the deployment of a MCV into a construction yard" "No! Think about it, we'll make ours look distinctive enough that they will recognise our aid. And hey, since we operate in the Yellow Zones most of the time...well, the legs are a benefit." "Fair point." World Conquest Idea(not Domination Tour) Posted: 27 May 2021 08:27 PM PDT I've been playing a ton of Star Wars: Empire at War recently, and it got me thinking about how a similar mode could work in a C&C game. My thought is that it would be more open-ended. You'd start with a small number of territories, possibly randomized, but tied to canonical holdings(so in a Tiberium Universe game, a GDI player would say, start in Germany, while a Nod player would have an African nation or possibly one of the US red zone states), and one of those territories would house an HQ. The HQ would serve as a main base, while also allowing for tech tree research for credits. You could start off a new game with maybe just infantry access, or maybe light vehicles as well, and for every victory earn a number of credits you can use to gain more tech, get access to heavy armor and eventually super weapons. From your starting territories you could send out MCVs to enemy bases, where you'd play classic C&C: build a base, harvest resources and destroy the enemy. I think it would be fun to have randomized missions, or encounters of some kind as well, on the world map. Maybe special tech that appears as a bonus? Faster or better harvester technology, maybe a secret epic unit or a trainable commando? Or just raids for credits or stuff. End goal would be to locate the enemy HQ, which would have a prebuilt base on the map, probably with heavier defenses and better units depending on tech level. Destroy the HQ base, you win. All this rambling stems from how much replayability the Galactic Conquest mode in EaW has, and how much I wish I could get a more open ended, randomized campaign in a C&C game. Hope this gets some discussion going! [link] [comments] |
