    I found a way to unpixelate the original Red Alert (CnCNet).

    I play on 720x480 strechted to either 1280x720 or 2560x1440 depending on where I play but this should make for better results no matter what your resolution settings are.

    in RedAlertConfig.exe, force OpenGL as Renderer.

    in RedAlertConfigFull.exe (advanced settings) under video settings --> OpenGL Filter (at the bottom) choose xbrz-freescale.

    Start the game.

    Profit.

    EDIT: game launches may become slower (like 10 secs instead of like 2) but you'll always be there before a timeout

    Your favourite cross-faction tech combinations

    Captruing enemy tech is a core features of C&C. Which combinations of tech from two or more factions are your favourites? I like:

    Prism Tank + Tank Bunker: it increases the Prism Tank's already good range, doesn't require power (unlike the Prism Tower), and is more effective against groups of infantry than a Prism Tower, as the latter zaps infantry one by one and has no spread.

    Pathfinder + Helix: sniping infantry, especially a group of GLA Workers, from a distance and while flying is fun.

    Initiate + Battle Fortress: it gives the initiates needed protection, and turns the vehicle into a flame tank of sorts.

    Reckoner + Battle Base/Rig: The Reckoner is great as a bunker because if placed in the repair radius of a War Factory or Rig, it's going to be repaired automatically. The AI is especially bad at dealing with this, and the Rig gives this strategy extra mobility.

    Where would the best place be to play red alert 2 and red alert 3 along with the expansions? I was thinking of buying the command and conquer ultimate edition but don't really care for the tiberium series.
