    Hi folks! 👋🏼

    I'm a Mac user. But I'm utterly fed up with the lack of ability to play C&C on Macs.

    In the autumn I will be replacing my 2015 MacBook Pro with a new line MacBook Pro with an Apple silicon chip.

    So here's my dilemma: do I play C&C via a Windows emulator via the Mac or do I buy a cheap Windows machine secondhand to play it?

    All views greatly received.

    Just think about the possibilities. Launching yourself out of a Bullfrog's man-cannon in first person,fooling around with the Cryocopter's Shrink Ray as a pilot reducing Apocalypse Tanks to fun size or piloting a Giga-Fortress raining death above your enemies. All rendered in the Frostbite Engine in the form of a first-person shooter.

    The ultimate "Camp" first person shooter. If you are looking for realism, there's Battlefield. A Red Alert 3 FPS would be an excellent throwback to the absurdity of early FPSes.

    Is there a way to change the sound effects for CnC Zero Hour/Shockwave?

    I still play CnC Zero Hour (Shockwave mod) almost every day and even my girlfriend is learning how to speak like a member of the GLA. Can I have some shoes?

    However, something she hates and I have come to dislike is the siren that notifies you that a unit is under attack. I still want a notification sound, just something less annoying/loud.

    Is there a way to change this sound file without messing up the Shockwave mod? Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Hey fellow Redditors,

    For those who don't know me I (Danku) have been around the C&C Remasters since their initial launch over a year ago now, starting at around Rank #77 in Season 1 to now currently being Rank #11 in Season 5. (I even hosted the community Season 3+ ladder before EA opted to do auto resets). I've learned a lot over my time playing the game and wanted to share a bunch of that knowledge with the community and people who may be struggling with trying to improve their playstyle - I feel a lot of this knowledge can get lost to the wind so wanted to make a post for preserving and sharing it.

    I say all of this with a humbling pinch of salt - I don't know everything, but I know how to learn, adapt and improve over time (as evidenced by seasonal rankings). I know how frustrating and difficult it can be at times to try improve, but there are resources that can help you out if you find yourself losing games over and over without understanding why.

    C&C Remastered Tiberian Dawn - Multiplayer 101

    This is a guide written for people who are brand new to trying to play a competitive RTS online and details some of the basic fundamentals from hokeys, faction considerations and a basic build order foundation

    C&C Remastered Tiberian Dawn Multiplayer Masterclass

    This covers almost everything you need to succeed on the TD competitive ladder as a GDI player ranging from Controls/Hotkeys, Scouting, Build Orders, and even current quickmatch ladder map builds and more importantly explanations behind why certain builds are better than others.

    AOD Gaming - Build Order Guides

    AOD is another player in the community who has improved a huge amount over the seasons and has an (albeit short) playlist showcasing some build order guides for Nod players. He is currently a top 10 player on TD who is consistently posting content and replays from ladder matches to his channel, definitely worth checking out if you want to pick up some tips and tricks.

    Crexis' Tiberian Dawn Multiplayer Fundamentals Thread

    From one of the best players of the game, this is one of a three set series of posts from Crexis outlining details about Multiplayer Fundamentals, including sample placements for structures on awkward maps like Quarry & Monkey in the Middle. It is an extremely worthwhile and valuable read.

    Groundhog Brawl Tournaments

    It can be somewhat awkward to get hold of good replays of players, one nice way around this is to check out videos and content from competitive tournaments held by the community, the linked playlist included casts for Groundhog Brawl tournaments #4 and #5

    TD Replays via C&C Community

    Some players may be unaware, but you are not limited to the in-game replay search option to dig up old replays. You can take advantage of player searching over all the seasons worth of competitive games to date! Of particular note are replays from Crexis, Campaign Player & Sai.

    Twitch Streamer Vods

    There are a few streamers who regularly play Tiberian Dawn on Twitch who have vods enabled. Going through these games and seeing the first person perspective of top players giving feedback on their own and other players is a fantastic source of information and learning, usually you can even catch them playing live and ask them questions directly if you are having troubles with a particular build or strategy.     If you are looking for some of the best of the best content you can try dig through the vods of some of the former best players (who no longer stream the remasters on a regular basis):

    There are plenty of other streamers in the community who you can connect with and get to know - you can usually see when these people go live through AOD's Discord and Danku's Discord, we're a social bunch who are always online and up to helping each other out. Usually you can find details for tournaments and map contests in these channels also.
