Tiberium Wars by Peptuck Posted: 06 Oct 2019 12:28 PM PDT Does anybody know what became of it? It is one of the best fiction works I have read, despite the fact that it is "only" a fanfiction. But the story cuts out suddenly and there are no more updates (at least on fanfiction.net). I could not find any info as to why it stopped or any explanation by the author. Perception of C&C as "Campy". Your thoughts? Posted: 06 Oct 2019 01:55 PM PDT I grew up with Command and Conquer and it might have made me more blind to what people mean. But today I see all these comments about how the game and its presentation is campy, humorous and the worth people put into it is the feeling that it is something like Iron Sky. A low grade, corny but entertaining joke. Its hard for me to really understand that point of view though. I agree some of the earlier cutscenes can appear a bit humorous, considering the low budget a organization like Westwood could pour into making the games, it is not hard to see the limitations. But whilst Red Alert 2 and 3 were more the humouristic variation, it is the dark nature of Red Alert, Tib Dawn and Tiberian Sun that really define C&C for me. Especially reading the original concepts, the world of C&C is a hellish nightmare and I can't but not take the lore and setting seriously. Idk, maybe I am focusing more on the universe than the actual plots but I still feel like saying its campy makes it devalue the experience..
