Posted: 10 Jan 2020 10:35 AM PST I use to play this all the time in 8th grade specifically "Red Alert" with a few friends and haven't played since. I currently have a PS4 and Mac. Are their any versions anyone would recommend for these systems for someone looking to get back in it? [link] [comments] | ||

If the Brotherhood of Nod was in Mass Effect Posted: 09 Jan 2020 10:36 PM PST So I have an idea for a crossover fic for C&C x Mass Effect. The Brotherhood of Nod becomes the face of humanity in the Mass Effect 'verse instead of GDI, who are usually the ones to do this because they're the designated good guys. This of course would change how humanity works in the frame of Mass Effect and I've got some ideas already how that might affect things. I've played all the Mass Effect games (and Andromeda but let's not talk about that one) so I have a pretty solid grip on that side of the coin, however I'm much less versed in C&C stuff. I'm doing lots of research and I plan to get my hands on one of the games so I can really get a feel, especially for Nod, but I'm interested to hear from vets of C&C on how you guys think this would work, so if you're interested first I'll explain my basic premise and my current ideas for the setting, then I'll list my topics I'd like to hear your guy's thoughts on. r/MassEffect will be getting a similar discussion posted, so feel free to check that out too later if you'd like. Premise: After Kane leaves with some of his followers through the Scrin portal the remaining Brotherhood of Nod manage to finally take total control of Earth through a series of events. Fast forward in time to the point they make contact with the citadel species, the Brotherhood has divided into multiples sects, as they often do in Kane's absence, with differing beliefs who work together but quarrel for power and control with each other constantly under the table. The Children of Kane believe Kane ascended to godhood and revere him as a god, they boast a greater number of followers than the other sects and are known for their truly fanatical followers and general zealotry. They focus on trying to biologically and cybernetically alter themselves to try and attain ascension to be closer with their now godly Kane. The Noddites believe Kane used the Scrin portal to find the mythical Land of Nod, a paradise for the faithful. They believe as ever that he still lives and took to the stars to find him and the land of Nod. Because of this they pioneered Nods space travel capabilities and boast a large and competent fleet as well as play a large part in humanity's expansion, establishing many colonies. The Scorpion Cabal are less concerned about Kane's disappearance and more about the Brotherhood's current state of affairs and plans for the future. Their agents often work tirelessly to ensure the Brotherhood does not fracture completely as it has so many times before. To accomplish this they invest much time and resources into developing technological advances, especially in the fields of stealth, espionage, and subversion. This is the sect Commander Shepherd will be a part of due to their more moderate values and is also the one in control of Earth, as it was their tactics that allowed the Brotherhood to take control from GDI. The Temple of Tiberius claims Kane was a prophet who foretold the coming of Tiberium, a gift from their god Tiberius. They worship Tiberium and seek to discover all of its many applications, their sect spends the most time experimenting with Tiberium directly and as a result are responsible for its controlled spread across Brotherhood worlds. They often develop new and terribly powerful weapons from their research, and hold a huge share of Tiberium mining and manufacturing, making them the richest of the sects. The Brotherhood uses Tiberium to create portals for interstellar travel and so do not rely heavily on Mass Effect Relays nor Element Zero in their technology. That's the setting so far and now my questions!
Any and all respectable answers are appreciated, feel free to ask questions yourself too, so I can see if I'm able to answer them with my own understanding of my setting. [link] [comments] |
