Command and Conquer 4 : Reboot (Discussion) Posted: 26 Apr 2020 09:10 PM PDT What game? it doesn't exist... but for now, you've been granted the power to finally see this monstrosity... Command and Conquer 4 : Tiberian Twilight Or... a spin-off with mainline title sprinkled all over it... TBH, if there is a hypothetical possibility of CNC 4 getting retconned with a proper reboot... imma' put my subjective opinion and i would like to see your opinions. The Gameplay I'm pretty damn sure no one loves that command point... point, point, point, point restriction... how you're limited to certain number of units, then structures, and how support point generation system allows you to spam them without thinking much, and the fact that they have to split them into three. This thing works on multiplayer (is there any multiplayer matches anyway? lol). But no for singleplayer Which means no Crawler gameplay, put them back into mobile war factory like in CnC 2 : Firestorm (and unarmed) This requires some redesign, because crawler is a refinery, factory, and construction yard... The reboot better go back to the mechanics from CnC 4, simple rock-paper-scissor, base building, resource gathering The Story The story will be retconned, but although not all IMO... ---------------------------------------------- The foremost is Kane's alliance with GDI, remember how you nuked GDI's base mid-game during cease-fire in CnC 3? And i find it weird that after getting the tacitus, only to give it back years later. I know it was because Nod is lacking resources for TCN, but i thought Nod is a superpower faction as much as GDI because Nod's control of tiberium? and Kane is INTELLIGENT. Gideon, his character could be used for the third nod reunification war but his motive will be different, instead of breaking up due to Kane's alliance. Gideon could fear Kane's use of cyborgs, and fear that the 2nd CABAL and starts assaulting LEGION in the third war. Maybe Gideon believes in Kovacs' point of view. I'm not sure about this one... the TCN plot-device, what's your opinion on it? this is my take Since Kane has the tacitus, Nod builds their own TCN and GDI tries to capture them. So they fight over TCN, one defends it, one tries to capture it... Now this is where Scrin comes in, now with full-invasion force... despite being at full-arsenal, GDI and Nod had enough time to improve their arsenal so all three of them are at the same power level. Since Scrin needs tiberium, TCN acts as a dampener, so they destroy TCN because it hinders their invasion AND harvesting operation because Nod's TCN has been designed to anticipate second scrin invasion, therefore they're just... designed to connect to Relay Node. (tacitus is OP) The climax? well... isn't it obvious it would be at the scrin tower? A three-way battle ensues for the fight over the relay node. GDI mission is to destroy it This is the part where the story branches into three depending on faction campaign you're playing If you won GDI campaign The TCN are captured and activated (and they finally understand how it works), the relay node is destroyed. The scrin invasion ends, and the TCN clears all tiberium infestation around it and that's it... there is still infestation outside TCN's range. If you won as Nod campaign The TCN are linked into the relay node which acts as an interface to the scrin tower. BUT... to access the relay node, the tacitus must be inserted into the relay node for access. This is in line with what i read on the wiki "It is fundamental to our cause, the key to Ascension, for it holds power and wisdom far beyond anything ever before imagined by Man." - Kane Well... it's a literal key "One was centered around the Tacitus being a soul-prison for the leader of the martian force that fought against the Scrin (they knew how to beat the Scrin, but discovered it too late)" - Westwood I don't really get what "soul-prison" means... but it feels like a must that the tacitus must be sacrificed in the ending. The activation of the scrin tower consumes the tacitus, the harvesting begins... which harvests all tiberium to the ichor hub, but of course... TCN keeps some of them as a good source of energy. The Scrin retreats when the scrin tower activates as the overlord realized Kane's motive and felt outsmarted lmao... And the portal to ascension opens, and Nod goal's have been accomplished. Now everyone turn sides to nod after that. (And this becomes CnC franchise' true ending, what was like a terrorist organization, becomes the organization that saved humanity) If you won as Scrin campaign Everyone dies(tm)... All TCN destroyed, and the scrin tower harvests everything including lifeforms, turning earth into barren wasteland. ------------------------------------------ In conclusion, the reboot ending branches into three like in CnC 1 and CnC 2... because since it concludes the whole story, it's much more impactful on which faction you're in. Oh... also... no romantic relationship with the commander, i cringed at that... what if i'm a girl? that sure breaks immersion. Oh... i don't know about coup d'etat, but i'm not going for it. You can replace that with Nod disguising as GDI like in CnC 2 "Sheep's Clothing" mission Again... it's just my headcanon, but i wrote it anyway... if you have your own headcanon, can i read it here? The Acting I can allow to keep the same characters like General Briggs, Gideon... The Arsenal TBH i'm all for units from that crappy CnC 4 game... some are my favorites (like archangel) But since there are a LOT of unit and they're split into three, there will be similiar units that need to be thrown away... Between hunter, spartan, and shepard... only shepard tank will make it into the reboot, but sub-factions can allow this. And then there are boss units like GDI Arcus, Scrin's Mothership, well... Nod needs its own boss aircraft as well. I think that's all... anybody? [link] [comments] | ||
