Finally got C&C Remastered and it really is as good as I expected!

    Posted: 24 Aug 2020 11:29 AM PDT

As someone that lost hours (months) of my life to the entire C&C franchise, especially the original, this has really taken me back to my younger years.

Thank you to all that made this happen!!

    Welcome back, indeed!

I always found this funny in Red Alert 1 (and yes, I know the US is part of the Allies)

How many Red Alert engineers does it take to change a lightbulb?

    Posted: 24 Aug 2020 02:04 PM PDT

    Any takers?

For some reason this reminds me of a desolator trooper

My next mission for the Tiberium Essence Nod campaign is now available to play. Part of the map will bring back memories if you played a certain C&C FPS game... Link in the comments below:

I bought this for my boyfriend who is a massive fan and the collectors remastered edition (which is yet to arrive. It’s been delayed since June)

Remastered: Vehicles confused on repair pad (RA1 at least)

    Posted: 24 Aug 2020 02:33 PM PDT

I see this fairly frequently in remastered RA1. (Haven't checked TD yet, lots to do in RA1.)

One vehicle doesn't get off, and turns around confused, while another drives on.

I tried attaching a video (first time trying that) and I does not appear to have worked.

Also, it would be nice if the vehicles would always get off the pad when the repair is complete. Annoying to try to send something there, only to realize you have to get something off the pad first.

Discussion thread for the Tiberian Dawn balance + QoL changes survey

    Posted: 24 Aug 2020 09:20 AM PDT

Hi, hey, and hello, C&C community!

Over the last couple of days, I've run a short survey that tries to address some of the more commonly shared sentiments amongst the online playerbase, in regards to possible balance and quality of life additions. Most of the participants were top 200 quickmatch players. The purpose of this thread is to foster further discussion and allow people to argue for/against the proposed changes, such as to better contextualise all the votes that have been cast (these are all intended for quickmatch and the "Modern Balance" setting in skirmish/custom games).

The voting results can be found here (the two affirmative options for the Weapons Factory are duplicates, just add those together), and a full preview of the survey/questionnaire here (some of the text doesn't show fully on the analytics page).

Do note that the "choose x change(s) you agree with" questions weren't mandatory, and that lack of voter participation for those are to be counted as either indifference, or disagreement with all of the presented options (although some participants abstained from those questions, but still decided to select a preferred change for the Rocket Soldier and Engineer). I've compiled a list of adjusted vote distributions below:

    Engineer: capture delay 47%, multi-engi 41%, health + speed decrease 62%

    Rocket Soldier: 25 -> 50 health 44%, 300 -> 200 cost 53%, 25 -> 40 health and cost 300 -> 250 44%

Weapons Factory: increase health further 54.5%, don't increase health 45.5%

    MLRS: Adv. Comm. Center to Comm. Center/Radar prerequisite 62%, 100 -> 120 health 27%, GDI-only 59%

APC: remove ability to crush 9%, GDI-only 50%

QoL: higher max edge scroll speed 71%, higher max right-click scroll speed 50%, map name in player list 85%, double sight radius for MCV + Conyard 68%

Thanks to all who participated, and to whoever ends up reading this and/or decides to comment further. :o)

EDIT: I forgot the adjusted vote distribution for the two APC questions; they've been added now!

TibDawn MRLS should be more accessible.

    Posted: 24 Aug 2020 04:54 AM PDT

Is it just me, or is it absurd that the MRLS requires a superweapon structure? Especially since Nod's SSM requires an obelisk?

I propose it should require a comm centre, which in competitive games are usually low down the priority list. This would make the choice of comm centre more interesting, and as MRLS are pretty balanced anyway (long range but fragile) it isn't like this would be OP.

It also doesn't make sense for them to require an advanced comm centre when clearly the tech for missiles is available via comm centre for GDI in the form of an AGT.

Tutorial on how to make Campaign Maps?

    Posted: 24 Aug 2020 03:55 PM PDT

So I've been toying around in my head about making two mini-campaigns of five missions each. Both campaigns would be taking place after Allied victory.

Chinese Resistance (Green, Yellow or Blue)

With the Soviet leadership dead or arrested, the Chinese resistance now see that it's time to rise up and kick out their Soviet oppressors along with their Chinese collaborators. Von Esling of Allied command has agreed to send material support to help the Chinese in their fight.

Chinese Peoples Militia (Pink or Orange)

Chinese who chose to work with the Soviets were treated better than those who didn't. With the word of Stalin's death it's only a matter of time before the Soviet Administration in China collapses. With rumors circulating that the Allies are supporting the resistance, the militia realizes that if they want to rule China they'll have to destroy the resistance alongside their Soviet overlords.

    Details still being hammered out

I'm curious for you campaign map makers out there can point me to tutorials that can help me out with this. I've never done any map making (both multiplayer/skirmish or campaign) in a C&C game. I want to know how to trigger events (ie capturing radar domes results in victory, destroying a prison gets you infantry, reinforcements showing up from off the map etc), changing colors of starting armies, etc. Any help would be appreciated, thank you

Why are nod units blue and their buildings red?

    Posted: 24 Aug 2020 08:29 AM PDT

Is there a lore regarding this? Or was is it technical limitation that they couldnt make the units red back then?

    C & C Remastered - Covert Operations - Twist Of Fate (Hard)

    Posted: 23 Aug 2020 09:39 PM PDT

I saw an interesting bit of speculation on YT video for an RA2 fan remaster; it said that there was a rumor that Boris is or was supposed to be General Krukov; does anyone here ascribe to that theory?

Where are the sprites for the Remaster in the local install?

The closest thing I've found is some .MEG files that have TEXTURES in the name, which is... less than helpful, given what a .MEG file is
