We are approaching a point where the gap between TD & TW/KW is smaller than the gap between TW/KW & today ...

    Posted: 10 Aug 2020 10:32 AM PDT

Just wanted to say it. We celebrated 25 years of c&c but the last "true" c&c was released in 2008 and it's Addon a bit later ..

    Shocked me a bit tbh

Oh by the way. I would need to do the math to be sure but I think we already passed the point where Episode 4 is closer to Episode 1. than today to star wars episode 1.

How to install and play Yuri's Revenge mods (on Origin included)

    Posted: 10 Aug 2020 05:57 AM PDT

First and foremost: READ THE INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS IF THEY ARE GIVEN. Either on the mod's page or in a README in a mod's download, READ. Far too many people don't read the instructions on how to install and play a mod and instead ask questions like "How do I download this?" or "How do I install/play this?". If you're asking these questions, either you haven't downloaded or played a mod before, or you're not reading. ONLY if you truly can't figure out downloading or installing should you ask these questions.

Now, with the simple task of telling you to read out of the way, let's explain how to install most Yuri's Revenge mods.

    • Find the mod you want to play online (either on Moddb or some other website) and download it.

    • Read how to install the mod and follow the instructions as closely as possible.

    • Before actually installing the mod, make a copy of your Yuri's Revenge game folder (for Origin players, that will be in Origin Games/Command and Conquer Red Alert II). I suggest doing this in case you ever want to play the vanilla version of the game. If you copy the game folder into the same place as the original game folder, the copy will most likely have the name "Command and Conquer Red Alert II - Copy"

NOTE: For client-based standalone mods (Mental Omega, Red Resurrection) creating a copy of the game is not necessary. Simply download the standalone to the place you want, install it, and play!

    • A lot of mods "take over" the original game; that is what the copies of the game folder are for. Use the copies of the game for mods and leave the normal game alone. This will also eliminate the need to find and download or copy essential files the mod might need to run, like the game's executable.

    • Install the mod into a copy and verify that all of the mod's necessary files are present. If they are not, you will have to find them and place the files into the place where the mod is. I suggest making a shortcut of the mod's executable to put on your desktop to easily access the mod.

    • You're done! You should now be able to play your desired mod without any issues. Apply any graphics and imaging solutions if needed.

Remember, Origin players, your game's position is "C: (or whatever drive you're using/Origin Games/Command and Conquer Red Alert II". If anyone has any further questions, feel free to ask.

    Harvester Ratio?

    Posted: 10 Aug 2020 11:44 AM PDT

I'm used to Kane's Wrath's Refinery : Harvester ratio. What would be a good ratio to have in Tib Dawn? As many as possible? 1 ref : 2 harv? 3 ref : 6 harv? Much appreciated.

Anyone got an MP3 of the Soviet "Establishing battlefield control, stand by" soundbite from RA2?

I would really appreciate a download link to this file. Thank you so much in advance!

BTW, it really warms my heart to see how the CnC community has been resurrected in recent years! KEEP 'EM COMIN'!
