Posted: 22 Oct 2019 03:29 AM PDT Heya y'all. So my favorite thing about fandoms tend to be the awesome things us fans end up making, be it art, music, or stories. I'm always on the lookout for these things, and decided to jump on to fanfics sites to see what hidden gems I could find. Unfortunately there didn't seem to be that many that involve the C&C universe. The only one that truly caught my eye was Tiberium Wars, which is a cool retelling of said C&C game. After seeing the lack of stories for this fandom I decided to come up with ideas for my own story in order to contribute, and perhaps spur more folks to do the same. Thus I ended making a crossover one shot that actually meshes quite well. I titled it"Remnants of a Tiberium Future." Essentially, it's what if Kane and the Brotherhood of Nod were on Remnant, the world of RWBY. I'm a fan of the series because I find the concept and lore to be fascinating, even if it's story telling can be a bit rough at times. I only did a one-shot to see if people would actually be interested in a fully flesh out story. As I've said, the concept works rather well. From Mount Glenn being a perfect place of operations for Nod due to it's subterranean nature, to it's influence on those outside of the Kingdoms, and even it's interactions with the White Fang. But my main reason for doing this is to encourage more fan made works for one of my favorite series, no matter what it is. Remixes to the soundtrack or even new songs, to fan art of our beloved Messiah, Kane. I'm hoping as more people hear the news of the remasters that I'll start to see what creative fans can do with the series. And in doing so, can gather more attention for this fandom. Posted: 22 Oct 2019 09:49 AM PDT I need some help figuring out how to get XCC Mixer to work. I've downloaded TibDawn from C&Cnet.org and I am able to extract shp files from the Temperate and Desert mix files, but the Conquer mix file just shows black boxes for all of the shp file previews, and exporting them as any image file results in black boxes instead of the sprites. Is there an extra step I need to take in order to get the Conquer.mix file to work with XCC Mixer? Additionally, I'm unable to export tile sets. I can extract them as .tem files, but I can't extract the tiles as png files like I can the shp files. I tried opening clear1.tem with the XCC TMP editor, but it said it didn't recognize the file type. Any help with this would be appreciated. [link] [comments]
Something about the Brutal AI in RA2... Posted: 21 Oct 2019 08:30 PM PDT Edit part 2: This is about RA3, not 2. My bad So I was bored today and decided to see what two brutal AI's going against each other would look like, so I set both to random brutal and ended up with allies vs empire I watched for 10-15 minutes then got bored and did some of my college school work, I checked back in around a hour and a half later and they had devolved into a few units and a handful of structures My guess is that the ai won't attack if it risks losing its entire army, and would rather stalemate than even attempt to win the battle Edit: for some needed extra info They both built super weapons Both had built 250+ units Every deposit was empty There were more power plants than actual combat units on the map when I ended it [link] [comments]
