- First post!! Old mapper here. I used to make single player maps for RA and Tiberian Sun. Here's progress on a map I'm making. Sorry for the zoom out.

- In honor of the remaster I printed a thing
- "Insuffient funds" = Harvester derpy path finding queue
- That "initialization" sequence when I first started the remaster maked me shed a tear out of nostalgia. Like a fan service to people that played the game back in the days :)

Remasters still need better AI, Attack move and improved pathfinding Posted: 07 Jun 2020 03:38 AM PDT This game really needs attack move and improved pathfinding. I get the point of "Remaster" and keep it as it was back in the day. In past two decades, Attack move is a standard thing. I am hoping that CNC modders can implement attack move. I don't care "but it wont be like it was back in 1995", It's one thing to give a respect to game that started RTS, but if you want to keep the game wide playable in 2020 and beyond. You gotta hit that basic "industry standard", right click move was not in back then, yet it was added now (thank god) I will say that constantly spamming G "guard" button in order to force units to attack is not fun. It makes me feel that i am "forcing" them to fight. Looking on how your units and enemy units just casually mix up and continue going into opposite direction without anyone firing a single bullet. Makes me feel that I am the bad guy, because they mix up, shook hands and continue on their merry way. While it's me who must tell them, stop, attack this specific unit or select all press "G"... Pathfinding is same as it was before, which is not good. I've just played one TS skirmish match after yesterday whole day playing Remaster. And my god, AI and pathfinding is better in TS. This Remaster manage to do a freaking good job on many fields yet decided to stop one short step before perfection. This is that part that kills me, the game is almost a timeless perfection, just one more step and it could have been all you need when comes to RTS game.... Since game is 25gb, they could included optional "mod" with better AI, pathfinding and attack move. So close to perfection, so damn close but not no... [link] [comments] |
