Posted: 16 Jul 2020 11:49 AM PDT As someone who grew up with C&C, the remasters announcement and upcoming release got me more excited than any other game coming out this year. I bought it on launch day, something I rarely do anymore, and it was worth every penny. Once it launched and I got it installed, I haven't been able to stop! It has exceeded my expectations in every way. With the inclusion of mod support and the map editor, I can see myself returning for years to come. I also haven't even touched the multiplayer! I just wanted to say thanks to the development teams and all those involved in the project. So much love went into this remaster and it shows. Posted: 16 Jul 2020 10:15 AM PDT I was really curious post-launch whether we'd see them drag their feet on LAN mode, or whether community engagement would just dry up. But no he's still at it. I mean I wouldn't even fault him either; the product has shipped, he probably needs to be reassigned to something new. I don't think I want anyone else stewarding the franchise now. I think he's become one of the "must have" pillars of the franchise. I think if we saw any future C&C and Jim's name wasn't attached I would be immediately disappointed. What do you guys think? Possible to get mods to work in campaign for the remaster? The pathfinding is driving me mad. Posted: 16 Jul 2020 03:45 PM PDT Seriously, why are mods skirmish only? As far as the pathfinding itself goes, I get the dedication to authenticity but man, even in the 90's this was stuff I modded out/fixed almost immediately. I find it odd we get quality of life updates like build queueing+middle mouse scrolling as an "enhanced" option but then don't get the option of fixing genuinely broken pathfinding in the name of preservation according to making-of videos. That said, wouldn't this mind as much if the mods that fix these issues actually worked in the campaign! 99% of why I bought this was for campaign play so was bummed to learn just how broken much of the campaign is without these critical fixes in place. If I can somehow force the campaign to load mods, that would be awesome. Any ideas? [link] [comments] | ||

Would Kane and Nod embrace Dark Energon? Posted: 16 Jul 2020 02:51 PM PDT Not sure how many here are also Transformers fans but I began to think about this. Some major points about Dark Energon:
https://tfwiki.net/wiki/Dark_Energon In a universe where dark energon and tiberian exists on earth I could see Kane taking an interest in it as an energy source and energy weapon enhancer. However I could see dissent within Nod especially from the Black Hand after seeing dark energon bringing life to a machine given their stance against soulless machines. In this world the tacitus explains that dark energon came from an entity completely separate from entity that tiberium comes from. Once knowledge gets known within Nod it could be interpreted that dark energon is a "rival" to tiberium. It's possible embrace by Kane could also form it's subgroup within Nod that believes that true ascension can only happen to those who embrace the technology of peace along side the technology of chaos. Creation of such a group would create a cold war style rivalry within Nod, this group clashes with the Black Hand for Kane's favor, being the true spiritual leaders of the Brotherhood and of course accusing each other of being GDI puppets. Nooby question on how to improve Posted: 16 Jul 2020 12:42 AM PDT Got Remastered, and I'm getting stuck in a strat loop further down the campaign:
I managed to finish GDI campaign, but it required either sandbagging everything, or plain luck with a push or resource stealing or Orca spam... Does evey map have a trick to it, like silo stealing in final Campaign? Also, I (mis)remember that you could spam tanks in this game, yet with Tiberium getting depleted, and GDI unit cost, things come to a crawl, was it really like that? [link] [comments] | ||
