    Who's The Target?

    Posted: 27 Dec 2020 02:08 PM PST

Even with the ending of C&C4, Kane's journey can be continued.

Yes, I know how "The game that never existed" is treated here. Still, among the earlier games, there have been some clues which did not make sense. However, with Tiberian Twilight, the odd clues add up to a rather peculiar conclusion. Let's check out the odd clues, shall we?

    • 1. Tiberium is NOT a good tool for interplanetary resource gathering.

On C&C1, you will notice that tiberium grows on our world but not on the polar regions. Tiberium can cover most of the planet Earth, but would it do same on other planets? There are so many planets colder than our polar zones: On our solar system, any rocky planets outside of Earth would be too cold to guarantee tib harvest. This leaves Mercury and Venus, But I think these planets are too hot for tiberium because of what we saw on C&C1: The refinery. C&C1 refinery processes steamy tiberium (likely heated), which is contained and exposed in air. If you can refine the tiberium on such temperature, Mercury and Venus would be too hot for tib growth. The temperature window of tiberium farming is very small in terms of Astronomy and it would be very inefficient to use tiberium as a tool for space resource gathering.

Now on C&C3, Scrin harvest team fly in from Kuiper Belt when they detected tiberium explosion. This Scrin force is able to utilize teleportation and wormhole. With this level of technology, they should be able to perform planet crack just like the humans do in Dead Space. Instead of this easy method, Scrin insists to seed, grow and harvest the Ichor in the hard way. Scrin is not after resources: They are after the TIBERIUM itself and trying to spread it over the space. Why?

    • 2. True identity of Kane. what is it?

GDI says Kane is a megalomaniac criminal. Possibly, but it is not fun at all. Let us follow what the Brotherhood said. They say he is the Messiah. Least we can say is that he does not die, or be killed and risen back. One more thing: Kane often leaves the Brotherhood alone and it gets chaotic all the time, but among the would-be leaders, there was no one who is with Kane's offspring. If there was any son or daughter of Kane, he/she would be #1 candidate for the next leader: regardless of his/her own will.

A cult leader who does not die, age or reproduce? When Kane was announced as extraterrestrial, I was not surprised, was more like "I saw it coming".

There is another clue on true Kane: In the ending credit of C&C1 and during single play campaign of Renegade, you can see an stone tablet which has a drawing of Cain killing Abel. While this is not explicitly said as teachings, Kane condones or encourages the Brotherhood to believe he is the biblical Cain.

An alien who presents himself as a biblical villain? Why? Cain is a farmer who killed Abel and got exiled to the land of Nod, carrying the mark which makes him unable to be killed. Kane is a tiberium farmer. Through the Tiberian series, he keeps and utilizes his green fields of tiberium to grow in power. Considering the pre-war market share of tib (on C&C1), it is very likely that Nod (or Kane himself) invented tib refining tech. In C&C4, Kane came up with tiberium control network, completing the farming cycle of tiberium and ending tib crisis. Did Kane kill Abel? If tiberium is the crop of farmer Kane, what is the sheep of shepherd Abel?

Cain and Abel started their agricultural and pastoral practices, after human are expelled from Eden. What kind of world would require tiberium in order to live in it?

The puzzles are put together when you assume Kane was living in a small closed paradise located in death world, where you cannot survive outside of the Eden. The serpent who gave the forbidden fruit, was a serpentine toxin detector which examined food supply and uttered the forbidden knowledge, "This fruit is toxic. Eden is compromised and inhabitants should get ready to cleanse the world in order to survive". Ancient Scrin researched methods and two options came up: Kane's tiberium and Abel's beast. Beast of Abel was selected, Kane was unable to stomach this result and killed Abel. Soon Kane was thrown to the land of Nod, or a planet on which he can survive: the Earth. Kane is oblivious of what happened to Abel's beast, after the death of Abel.

This herd of beast is a terraforming tool which is more efficient than tiberium. If the beasts deviate from its preferred diet, pollution, to the tissues of dead intellectual and develop from it, then things can go pretty DEADly. Kane has his point being against Abel's herd. Just....he killed Abel and dumped the body carelessly so the chain reaction started.

Therefore Kane is an alien and the Cain. In this speculation, Kane's story became myth over time and eventually adopted in the Bible. Have you ever read Dune? This is what Bene Gesserit does with its Missionaria Protectiva, manipulating local religions. Earth is Arrakis, Tiberium is Spice, We are fremen-technologically undeveloped but savage fighters.

    • 3. Scrin today, is facing its downfall: their development have stopped so long time ago.

Kane was stuck on Earth, for a very long time: in C&C4, he said that he was here when the humans were living in caves. This would date back to thousands of years. That long ago, Scrin already had such a technology enough to send Kane to targeted habitable planet in one piece. After thousands of years, Scrin invades Earth, but their forces have to arrive on target physically in order to activate teleport of wormhole: little to no advance in technology.

What if Scrin technology stopped being developed right after Kane's exile took place? Such as, Abel's beast turned into necromorph and swiped out Scrin population, leaving only AIs and handful transcended Scrin individuals with their machines. If you checked C&C3, you might have noticed that Scrin infantries are repaired with factory drones. These are machines. Why would Scrin so crave tiberium? there are so many use for this, but this also can be used to contain the necromorphs: turn the dead army into crystals, seal them forever, shatter them or use tib as energy, material, weapon, whatever you want.

If Kane's story follow this path, his journey is far from finished.

I want to see Kane finding out how his actions doomed his species and the universe: he will be old, weary, sad, get white hairs on his face, but stand up and gather remaining Scrin and reach for the last hope: Earth and its fragile yet fierce warriors.

How do you extract the sound files of the Nod EVA from C&C3 to use as a Windows sound scheme?

I'm very new to all of this, so if anyone could explain how to do this, that would be greatly appreciated!

What would a brand new C&C need aside from the obvious?

    Posted: 26 Dec 2020 08:01 PM PST

Great gameplay is obvious; but maybe there's other things in the modern day that might be of use; I think we might want to start from scratch with a new sub-IP of sorts; or adopting another pre-existing RTS series. I imagine Twitch integration in some way might be ideal; especially for telestration.

You know what the remaster really needs?

A new season. We need a leaderboard reset. Also a new map pool would be nice. GIVE US THE SEASON 4 WE DESERVE!

Ideas for a Tiberian Sun remake.

    Posted: 27 Dec 2020 01:52 AM PST

So with all the talk of a Tiberian Sun remaster or a remake, here is what I think should be important for a remake of Tiberian Sun.

Full 3d engine, specifically designed to handle terrain damage.

Better AI. Possibly using the AI pioneered in Grey Goo as the base.

Same old balance and units as the latest patch of Firestorm at launch.

    Tiberium Wars style UI.

Toggleable sounds for units and sound effects. (Classic and Remake)

Ability to produce more than five units at a time.

Same old campaigns. And yes, with the same FMVs and cutscenes updated for a higher resolution.

    Full Mod Support.

    Toggleable day/night cycle.

    Naval units supported for modders.

Ambient AI wildlife. And more of them such as those crabs and that thorn infestation (and yes, you can blow up the thorn infestations if you want to)

More colour scheme differences to tell commonly shared buildings and units apart such as the Mobile Sensor Array and Construction Yard.
