Was told to post this here. Give some suggestions of other stuff you want to see built.

I tried to do a remaster/AI-upscale to 4k60 of the Command and Conquer intro cinematic.

This is kinda satisfying in a way

Command & Conquer Fans are like the Brotherhood of Nod in several ways.

Okay, Now here me out here.

We've survived 3 Tiberian Wars, Our World has been slowly and brutally destroyed by an infection that we now rely on to provide us a future and we hope that someday we will get the salvation that we have been promised numerous times!

Let's relate the C&C installments to Kane, for awhile they were great but now, time after time, they keep getting killed along with those around them, only to come back a few years later somehow still alive, trying to give us hope before ultimately failing again.

GDI being EA, taking over from the Humble UN and ultimately giving control to leaders that only care about money and the bottom line, lining their own pockets while forgetting about everyone else and even having staff turn on them.

Yet even with all this, we as a fan-base still soldier on and even when we think we can't trust EA anymore we still get persuaded by their words in the hope that THIS time it will be a success, that we can actually have a win for the first time in almost a decade and a half, even if we have to revisit the originals to show EA that the franchise is financially viable if they stop trying to curb stomp it with an ion strike every time it pops up.

It's been a long time since a studio under EA was allowed to be artistically innovative, in story or graphics, it's like they try to iron clothes with a steam roller, everything gets crushed in the end and is unusable and flat.

I know this is more of a rant simply because I ended up going into the "What happened to Command & Conquer" section of YouTube and I've been reminded of how much shit has been kicked in the face of not only this community but the developers of the series.

C&C was the first game I ever played and it's led me into a life of gaming, design and art. It's genuinely upsetting looking back on everything that's been done to the series and it's going to take more than one or two little successes to fix what they've done so far.

    ON A MORE POSITIVE NOTE

I'm very happy about the timescale that the devs have been working on with the Remake, looking back at a lot of the C&C games under EA, the longest development cycle was 18 months, for Red Alert 3, which is WAY too short for a decent team to work on a game in a comfortable manner, which can often lead to things like C&C Generals that was meant to have all of the content of Zero Hour in the initial release of the game.

Hopefully EA will let whatever studio and staff that take over on the next installment have a decent 3-4 year development cycle so we can have a fleshed out, polished and lore filled game that's a worth Successor to C&C 3.

Which one do you prefer: the MCV-based building process or the Dozer/Worker-based one? Why? And would you like to see the counterpart of your preference in a game you like? (Example: Dozers in TS/RA or MCV in ZH)

This is just opinion based so feel free to discuss!

Mine is the Dozer-based one as I like infinitely expandable bases and being able to sell my command center with no worries. However I do like to see some MCV-based building in ZH.

If the Hammer Tank can leech anything

    Posted: 28 Feb 2020 06:41 PM PST

    Hammer Tank

    Posted: 29 Feb 2020 04:39 AM PST

As all of us know, Hammer Tank is Soviet main battle tank in Red Alert 3, with an ability to leech enemy vehicle and buildings to repair itself and gain weapon based on the vehicle it leech on. This is one of my favourite units in game.

    So my questions are:

    1. What are your favourite Hammer Tank variants from each faction?

    2. What Hammer Tank variants from other C&C universe you would like to see?

    For me:

    1. Mirage Hammer Tank, Future Hammer Tank, Destroyer Hammer Tank (Allied), Apocalypse Hammer Tank, Tesla Hammer Tank (Soviet), Giga Hammer Tank & Wave Force Hammer Tank (Empire of Rising Sun)

    2. [Red Alert]RA2 IFV Hammer Tank, RA2 Mirage Hammer Tank, Prism Hammer Tank, RA2 Apocalypse Hammer Tank, RA2 Tesla Hammer Tank, V3 Hammer Tank, Gattling Hammer Tank and Mastermind Hammer Tank

[Tiberium]Mammoth Hammer Tank (Railgun variant), Juggernaut Hammer Tank, Disruptor Hammer Tank, Avatar Hammer Tank, Devastator Hammer Tank and Annihilator Hammer Tank

[Generals]Paladin Hammer Tank, Tomahawk Hammer Tank, Overlord Hammer Tank, Nuke Cannon Hammer Tank, Marauder Hammer Tank and Scud Hammer Tank

There are companies/Websites where people can design/create own clothing designs, who need to be ordered by a certain amount to be produced as limited editions.

    Posted: 29 Feb 2020 02:31 AM PST

Such editions could be limited to 10 or maybe 100 or so.

Does somebody know how it behaves in terms of copyright if we would create e.g. black hoodies with the NOD design or white/grey with GDI emblems?

Would the companies deny it or could EA sue us over 10-50 hoodies which we bought for personal use? I mean, the design would be created by the user not the shirt/hoodie company.

Or are there other sources to get such stuff? I would really like a comfy black hoodie with a big NOD scorpion on its back and I can't be the only one here or?

Oh and @u/ea_jimtern any plans for a C&C fan / merchandise store for the C&C REmaster editions? I could imagine a lot folks would love official clothes, keychains, stickers etc.

Best Sound Drops in the Franchise

    Posted: 28 Feb 2020 06:12 PM PST

I've been slowly working to get a Twitch channel up and running, and want to have C&C-themed alert sounds for donations/subs/etc. I know there are a few sounds I want to have including

    • "Silos needed" for cheers/donations
    • "Welcome back, commander" for subs/resubs
    • "Got a present for ya" for gifted subs

But I'm trying to figure what game would have the best sound quality for such a venture, so I figure I'd ask like-minded C&C fans. What game do you think had the best voice over sounds/notifications?
